-------------------- thatbastard's R1 SOUNDS!----------------------------

ALWAYS BACK UP BEFORE MODDING, YOU SILLY BOY!

hey all, i hope you like the new mod from me and szk, its my personal fave bike and i just had to do the sounds for it!. i would like to give a big shout out to szk aswell, for supplying us with this very detailed bike, and for putting up with my emails begging him to make it!!.

info:

this sound mod was remade about 5 times over, and that doesnt include editing each sound one by one to try and make it work!. we tried out various sounds and i eventually narrowed it down to this sound, and edited it to fit.

ive made this mod with my vehicles speeded up a bit to the original speeds, so it sounds right on my game, if you have kept the original speed or made it even higher it may sound a little different. my average bike goes around 250 - 300 for this mod... not that it matters.

how to install for PCJ:

for the extraction of the old files and replacement of the new you will need GTA3 Audio Editor!!.. or something similar

1 go and put the kettle on, its always good to have a cuppa when modding.

2 open up the sfx.SDT file in vice city/audio folder in the audio editor

3 replace the files in the archive with the same names as the ones that i have supplied, and then change the unknown values as shown below.

4 rebuild the archive if it hasnt already done so.

5 voila! job done.... go burn some rubber!

now not everyone has just the pcj as a bike so below ive included the file names and the unknown values you need to change them to.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
these are the pcjs original wav names and unknown values (u1 + u2)

sfx00287	u1 18254	u2 59244
sfx00307	u1 0 u2 18422
sfx00443	u1 0 u2 -1
sfx00444	u1 10862	u2 51852
sfx00445	u1 0 u2 -1
---------------------------------------------------------------------

THESE ARE THE UNKNOWN VALUES THAT YOU NEED TO CHANGE TO:

sfx00287	u1 18254	u2 59244
sfx00307	u1 0 u2 -1
sfx00443	u1 0 u2 -1
sfx00444	u1 37000	u2 51852
sfx00445	u1 0 u2 -1

this is another option for the redline sound that makes the rev limiter sound crazy!

sfx00287	u1 52000	u2 59244

---------------------------------------------------------------------

rename them as follows for the faggio.

sfx00287	to	sfx00285
sfx00307	to	sfx00305
sfx00444	to	sfx00436
sfx00445	to	sfx00437

now you need to copy the unknown values from the original pcj to the now renamed files so they work properly.

eg... sfx00287	to	sfx00285 *then* u1 18254	u2 59244

capiche??

rename them as follows for the angel/ freeway.

sfx00287	to	sfx00284
sfx00307	to	sfx00304
sfx00443	to	sfx00431
sfx00444	to	sfx00432
sfx00445	to	sfx00433

and again you need to copy the unknown values as mentioned above

eg... sfx00287	to	sfx00284 *then* u1 18254	u2 59244

*known issues*

as the faggio is a scooter it only has one gear, so the looping may sound odd as the sounds were designed from the pcj.

not all of these files have been tested out on each vehicle, but if i have done my maths correctly they should work just fine. if not drop me a note in the Borg forums and let me know the problemo and i ll try and sort it.

thats it! now go and play you fool!
